Shraddha Kapoor was pleasantly surprised when a fan came, bearing a bouquet of roses to gift her at the airport and also went down on his knees while presenting it to her. In a video going viral, a fan was seen greeting the Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar actress with a bouquet of red roses and also kneeling down while offering it to her. Touched by the gesture, Shraddha Kapoor shook hands with her fan and also posed with him for the shutterbugs stationed at the airport. For those seeking context, Shraddha Kapoor, dressed in an all-white outfit, was walking towards the airport entrance when she was surprised by the fan.

A few months earlier, Shraddha Kapoor shared her new look with her fans. Saying goodbye to her long tresses, Shraddha Kapoor opted for a short crop look. Sharing two images in which she is dressed in loungewear and chilling indoors with a cup in hand, Shraddha wrote: “Dil chota mat karo, baal karo [ Don't make your heart small, cut your hair short],” with a bunch of funny images.

Fans flooded the comments section with compliments. Some even asked Shraddha Kapoor if she had chopped her hair off for a new project. Monica Chaudhary, who was seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar with Shraddha, commented, “Sundar.” Shraddha reacted with heart emojis.

Shraddha Kapoor's last release was Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The film was also recently released on the streaming platform Netflix. About the film, NDTV's Saibal Chatterjee wrote, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar mocks established notions of dating and romance and examine the consequences of a clash between family and freedom, between a casual fling and lifelong fidelity, between a girl who is done with living under the same roof with her extended brood and a boy for whom filial bonds matter as much as love does.”

Greater Noida Journalist Says Forced To Leave Job By Husband, In-Laws

The Greater Noida police on Tuesday said they have launched an investigation after a journalist alleged cruelty by her husband and his parents, claiming she was forced by them to quit her career in television news.

The journalist, 30, who has now taken to YouTube for work, claimed she was harassed by her husband and in-laws to the point that she even contemplated suicide. She also alleged being pressured into providing them with money.

The woman said she got married in 2017 but her husband and in-laws did not like her going out for work.

"Under their pressure, I had to leave the job. I didn't have any means of earning, so a few days ago I started my YouTube channel. Unfortunately, even after I left the job, the behaviour of my husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law did not change. On the contrary, they became more aggressive and threatening," the journalist claimed.

"After a heated argument on July 25, my mother-in-law even threatened to throw me out of the house. I got married in November 2017. We had a love marriage. But that too was built on the foundation of lies," the woman said, alleging she was deceived by her husband into marrying him.

Police said an FIR was lodged at Beta 2 police station on Monday on the woman's complaint and they have launched an investigation.

"The FIR has been lodged under Indian Penal Code sections 498A (cruelty by husband, in-laws) and 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace). None of the accused has been arrested yet. An investigation has been started to ascertain facts of the matter," a police officer told PTI.

Taylor Swift Gifts Rs 82 Lakh To Each Tour Truck Driver Who Carried Her Equipment

As the US leg of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour officially wrapped up, the 33-year-old singer gave out generous bonuses to the truck drivers who have been transporting her equipment across the country. According to TMZ, the Grammy award-winning singer gifted each trucker working her tour $100,000 and handed out the bonus checks before her Saturday show in Santa Clara, CA.

The singer is believed to have 50 truck drivers on the tour, so in total she shelled out $5 million in bonuses.

A source told TMZ that the money was an "end of the tour" bonus as the Berks County-born pop star comes to the end of the U.S. leg of her tour, before moving on to Mexico.

Not only that, she also gifted a “very generous amount” to band members, dancers, lighting and sound technicians, caterers, and other staff, Metro reported.

Recently, a seismologist revealed that Taylor Swift fans in Seattle, Washington, triggered activity that was on par with a small earthquake.

Seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach told CNN that the ‘Swift Quakes' took place on July 22 and 23 and that the dancing at the shows caused seismic activity ‘equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.'

He noted that the activity beats the previous record in Seattle, which was generated by Seattle Seahawks' fans during a game against the New Orleans Saints.

 "The shaking was twice as strong and absolutely doubled it. I grabbed the data from both nights of the concert and quickly noticed they were clearly the same pattern of signals. If I overlay them on top of each other, they're nearly identical,'' he said.

Ms Swift also become the first living artist in nearly 60 years to have four albums in the top 10 at the same time, the organization added.

Centre To Consider Proposal Of Special Allowance Parity For Forces On VIP Duty

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today in Lok Sabha acknowledged the issue of the gap in special allowances among Central armed forces and said they are considering the proposal of equal allowances after the matter was raised by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) with the home ministry.

The Central Armed Forces provide security cover to VIPs (Very Important Persons) and special allowances are given to the personnel which has its own benefits but "few selected" get these benefits, which has led to a lot of heartburn among forces.

The CRPF provides security cover to almost 150 VIPs including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Gandhi family. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) also provide security cover to the VIPs. 

Speaking to NDTV, a senior home ministry official said, "Almost 80 per cent of VIPs are protected by these forces so the issue of parity is being considered." The MHA also sought similar proposals on the issue of special allowances from CISF and the ITBP.

"Nature of our job is such that we have to be always alert but we do not get similar allowances," a CRPF personnel said off-the-record.

The Special Protection Group (SPG) which is tasked to protect the Prime Minister, alone gets a 40 per cent "special allowance" while National Security Guards (NSG) gets around 25-30 per cent, the CRPF personnel said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply that the VIP Security Wing Directorate of CRPF was created on an ad-hoc basis in 2020 and was regularised from January 31, 2023.

According to Minister for State (Home Affairs) Nityanand Rai, a proposal from CRPF for the grant of Special Security Allowance to the personnel of the VIP Security Wing of CRPF is under consideration.

"The CAPF personnel, who are deputed to SPG, NSG, etc. are getting Special Security Allowance. However, the CRPF personnel posted to VIP Security Units and different categories of security-protected persons are not getting special allowance since the issue of grant of Special Security Allowance to them could not be considered by the 7th Central Pay Commission as the VIP Security Wing Directorate of CRPF was created on an ad-hoc basis on 01.06.2020 and was regularised w.e.f. 31.01.2023 only," Minister for State (Home Affairs) Nityanand Rai stated in his written reply.

Woman Shot At By Unidentified Men In Delhi's Kanjhawala, Probe Underway

A woman was shot at by some unidentified people in front of her house in northwest Delhi's Kanjhawala area on early Tuesday, police said.

At 12.32 am, police got information regarding an incident of firing, a senior police officer said. 

After reaching the spot at JJ colony in Sawda, it was found that some unknown people opened fire on the main gate of the complainant, the officer said.

The initial inquiry revealed that a woman family member of the complainant sustained a bullet injury. The victim was shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, the officer said.

A case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC and the Arms Act has been registered at Kanjhawala police station, police said.

An investigation is underway to nab the accused persons, they added.

Karan Johar On How Ranveer Singh Took Rocky From Paper To Screen: "He Worked It"

Director Karan Johar, who is at present, basking in the success of his film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, spoke to film critic Anupama Chopra and revealed how Ranveer Singh created the role of Rocky Randhawa for the film. In an extensive chat, the Student Of The Year director noted that Ranveer Singh accompanied him to Delhi for a recce for three weeks. Elaborating on the actor's "process," Karan Johar said, "Ranveer was with me right through those three weeks on a recce in Delhi. He would meet Instagrammers, speak to them, pick up lingos, he would absorb. He would also be driving around Delhi at night and just getting the flavour. I don't know what he was doing but he had a process."

Giving due credit to the Lootera star for bringing to life the character and flamboyance of Rocky Randhawa, Karan continued "He worked it. He created the Rocky Randhawa. You see is a lot on paper but it has a lot to do with him."

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan Johar's film in the 25th year of his career as a director, has been receiving unending love and praise by his fans and industry friends alike. Expressing his gratitude for all the love, Karan Johar told Anupama Chopra, "I feel so happy with all the pyaar. I don't know how to react to this love."

"What If Same Spoon Is Used?": Sudha Murty's 'Veg-Non Veg' Remark Divides Internet

Author and philanthropist Sudha Murty is yet again garnering attention online for her comments about her food habits. Appearing in a recent episode of YouTube series called 'Khaane Mein Kaun Hai', the wife of Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy revealed that she is a pure vegetarian and hence one of her biggest concerns is the possibility of the same spoon being used for both vegetarian and non-veg food items.

Ms Murty mentioned that while she is adventurous when it comes to her work, she is not the same regarding her food choices. "I am a pure vegetarian, I don't even eat eggs, or garlic. What I am scared of is, that the same spoon will be used for both, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. It weighs on my mind a lot!" Ms Murty admitted. She also said that when she travels abroad, she seeks out vegetarian restaurants or prepares her own meals. She carries her own bag of food and cooking items that can be easily heated in water, she said.

Ms Murty's comments have trigged various reactions online. While some internet users agreed that carrying food from home indeed is a good practice, others begged to differ.

"Many Indians pack food while travelling abroad. Food is a choice. #sudhamurthy is any elderly woman in our household who likes to chat," wrote one user. "We should not judge people based on their food preferences or other personal habits. Instead, we should focus on treating everyone with respect, regardless of their caste," said another.

"My mother , Aunt and even my wife takes food while travelling international as they are pure vegetarians. Even I prefer to eat home cooked food during travel," commented a third.

However, some users trolled the author for what they perceived as "selling" an overly simplistic lifestyle.

"Sudha Murthy's simplicity is becoming really irksome," wrote one user.

Another jokingly added, "On Foreign trips, Sudha Murthy carries her house along with her, what if the hotel room was used by another person..."

Meanwhile, in the YouTube video, Ms Murty revealed that her cooking bag comes with a "small cooker" which she uses to cook food. She even said that she would often pull her grandmother's legs for never eating outside and travelling with food items, but now, she behaves like her and carries her own food when she visits any foreign country.
